Julio Caro is known to everyone because of his
outstanding work in The Cell (2000), Siesta (1987) and Hunter Prey (2010).
Today, we are going to discuss his journey from 1981 to 2020.
In these 41 years, he went through so much but
never stopped learning. Let’s see his outstanding journey in these years that
made him The Julio Caro.
Julio Caro & His 41 Years Of Journey
In the year 1981, Julio Caro graduated from
Cornell University's College of Arts & Sciences with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Theater Arts and Philosophy.
After the completion of his graduation, he joined
the training program of the Bank of Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New
York City from 1982 to 1985.
He always had this attitude of never stopping and
in 1985 Julio produced his first independent feature film named “STATIC”. This
was the start of his era and he then never looked back.
In 1987, Julio Caro produced the film named
“SIESTA”. You might have watched the
film. The film was shot in Spain.
From 1988 to 1995, Julio Caro started gaining
interest in the music industry. He was
the manager of the recording artists Safire, The Sea Hags, The Throbs, and Raw
Youth.
From 1996 to 2000, Julio Caro worked at the production
company, Radical Media in New York and Los Angeles and he was a primary
executive working on the development of their entertainment strategy. The company was primarily the producer of
advertising commercials before Caro joined them.
In 2000, he was working with Radical Media and
produced “THE CELL” for New Line Cinema (also a division of Warner Media).
For 5 years, from 2002 to 2007 Julio Caro worked
with Jennifer Lopez and supported the launch of her production company,
Nuyorican Productions.
In the next 5 consecutive years, from 2007 to
2012, sir Caro worked with the billionaire Ron Burkle.
From 2012 to 2014, he started working as an
Executive Producer at the production company, Bunim/Murray Productions.
From 2014 to 2016 Julio Caro worked with two
production companies that used to focus on the Latin market with Spanish
language content: Two Wolves Productions
led up by Daniel Duran, Venezuelan director, and Cinema Giants, headed up by
the Dominican - American director Jessy Terrero.
With Daniel, he supported the production of
“BRAVETOWN” starring Lucas Till, Josh Duhamel and Laura Dern. While working with Jessy, they created the
Netflix Original series “EL GANADOR” which was released in 2018.
In 2018, Julio Caro supported the production of
two more projects: a documentary film
about the Colombia superstar, Maluma, for YouTube released in 2019 and a
scripted series for YouTube titled BRAVAS released in 2020.
Final Words
Today, Julio Caro is consulting several media
companies on the production and development of filmed entertainment. Clients include Chose Few Entertainment, a
Latin Urban recorded music company based in NYC and AMSI Entertainment, a
production company based in Los Angeles.
It’s not the end he is also participating in
several productions as either producer or executive producer, but none of these
projects has reached formal production.
